It was great to have so many fixtures played on the first weekend in March! 28 games took place over the weekend, thats about 850 girls out playing football. This was a tremendous effort on the part of the Clubs, Mentors & Fixtures Co-Ordinators and Referees - and as a bonus, the sun was shining!Well done to both Dublin County teams on wins this weekend. On Sun 7th February,the boys and girls of Foxrock Cabinteely GAA came to Johnstown GNS to receive their medals but got a lot more than they bargained for; waiting in the wings to present the silverware for another superlative performance in 2009, was Ryan Tubridy, casually dressed and no big desk to be seen for miles!Completely at ease, he addressed parents, guests and players, about the joys of sport while at the same time praising the volunteers for their hard work.
